You won't believe how good these Air Fryer Green Beans are. They are incredibly quick and easy to make. And taste absolutely fantastic. You just mix all the ingredients with green beans, put them into the air fryer basket, turn it on, and set the timer, and the air fryer will take care of the rest. It's just unbelievably easy and surprisingly really, really delicious. Especially given the very low hands-on work you have to do.

This Green Beans recipe is so simple, all you need is a bunch of pantry ingredients and your trusty Air Fryer. I only use some basic seasonings, but you can definitely add more of your choice. For example, if you'd like some heat, add some chili powder. Onion powder also works in this. Just follow the same air frying method to get the best results.
Green beans: Fresh tender green beans have the best flavor. I use regular green beans in this recipe. If you use french green beans (these are usually thinner and more tender), you may need to slightly reduce the cooking time. Make sure to trim the ends of the green beans before cooking.
Granulated Garlic: I like granulated garlic because it's less clumpy and more potent. But garlic powder also works for the recipe. Garlic flavor goes really well with green beans. If you want to use fresh garlic, I recommend tossing them in about 3 minutes before the beans are done. This adds a nice flavor, but if you add garlic at the beginning of the air frying, it can get burned and taste bitter.
Black pepper: Freshly cracked black pepper is always recommended.
Salt: I use fine sea salt. If you are using flaky salt/ coarse salt, you may need to add a little bit more.
Lemon juice: Can be substituted with lime juice. This adds a nice refreshing flavor to the green beans. If you don't like the lemon flavor, you can make the green beans without it too.
Avocado oil: I like avocado oil because it's healthier and has a neutral flavor. But any other neutral oil or olive oil should work too.
Parmesan cheese: Freshly grated Parmesan always has the best flavor, and that's what I used in the recipe. Jarred/bottled grated Parm works too.
I use Cosori 6.8 QT air fryer. For me this given time and temperature work perfectly to get the best results. If I have thicker green beans, I add a minute or two.
That said, air fryer time may vary from brand to brand and even model to model. Some air fryers are very compact, so the heating element stays very close to food, and they heat up very quickly. Some air fryers can take longer to heat up, especially if you use a larger capacity air fryer. I've used multiple air fryers in the past 10 years, and I know that they all perform very differently. So when you follow this recipe, please use the given time as a base. You may need to adjust the time by a minute or two to get the best results.
My favorite way to pair green beans is with is steak or lemon pepper chicken. I also love it with this Nando's style chicken leg quarters, too. Or you can serve it alongside a nice whole chicken or turkey as well for a lovely festive meal.
They go amazingly well with fish as well. I love it with my air-fried salmon or pan-seared swordfish.
Making green beans in the Air Fryer is so easy and they always turn out so tender and delicious!
Mix green beans with oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and lemon juice. Toss well until all the beans are covered with the seasonings.
Transfer to the air fryer basket and arrange them in a single layer.
Air fry for 10 minutes at 385°F/ 195 °C, shaking the basket and flipping green beans halfway through. If the green beans are thicker, air fry for 1 - 2 minutes more.
Transfer the green beans to a serving tray. Mix in
Parmesan cheese. Serve warm.
