I love making these roasted Cauliflower florets in my Air Fryer. They are so quick and easy to make and so delicious. Perfect healthy side dish for weeknight dinners. Great for rice bowls as well. You only need a few basic pantry ingredients and just a few minutes of prep time.

Make it Vegan

To make these roasted cauliflower vegan, you simply have to skip adding Parmesan cheese. They are delicious even without Parmesan cheese. If you love the cheesy flavor, you can add nutritional yeast as a substitute.

Spices & flavors to use:

I keep it very simple. I only add paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, parmesan cheese and salt. Paprika is for flavor, but if you’re adventurous and love heat, you can use cayenne instead. Paprika also helps to add some color. If you don’t like these spices, you can make it with just salt and pepper as well, and it’s still delicious.

Parmesan cheese also helps to add a nice savory cheesy flavor. Some inexpensive jarred Parmesan is good enough for this. You can also sprinkle some more Parm on top as a garnish.

Prepping Cauliflower for Air Frying

When prepping cauliflower, I usually separate the florets first. This way, I can clean them really well. Especially if you’re buying organic cauliflower from a farmers’ market or growing it at home, you’ll notice that it’s not as clean as grocery store cauliflower. Some of them have those tiny little bugs, sometimes soil, which is very normal. Make sure you clean them well.

Then I always make sure to drain all the water, spread them on a paper towel, and dry them off with another paper towel to remove any excess water. Or if it’s the dry season, just lay them on a paper towel for a few minutes until the water is dry.

When cauliflower florets are wet, they don’t get crispy enough. Instead, they steam in the air fryer. To prevent this and to make them brown, make sure to dry them well.

Serving Ideas with Roasted Cauliflower

I like to serve it as a side with proteins such as air fryer chicken drumsticks, mahi mahi, salmon or other protein of your choice.

They are also a great addition for salads.

I like to include these air fryer roasted cauliflower florets in my rice bowl. With some chickpeas, a green, drizzled with tahini, ranch, or other dressing, it’s delicious.

You can also mix them with yellow rice or pilaf rice or a curry sauce.

  1. Cut the cauliflower head into large florets. Wash them to remove any dirt. Drain all the water and spread them on a paper towel to dry off. Pat with another paper towel to remove excess water.

  2. Add cauliflower florets to a large bowl along with oil, parmesan cheese, paprika, granulated garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the florets are evenly coated with oil and spices.

  3. Transfer cauliflower to the air fryer basket/tray. Spread them evenly in one layer. 

  4. Cook them at 400°F for 12 minutes or until the edges of the cauliflower florets start turning golden brown. Make sure to flip them halfway through for even browning.
